FCD is done!
Hello, hello, hello!!! I had my commissioning/graduation for FCD May 27th. School is officially over!!! It was a good school, but sometimes it was a bit repetative. But I know that I am leaving this school with alot more information about missions, God and different cultures.
I am now full time staff here on the base. I am working with Racquel (a jamaican) in housekeeping now 5 days of the week. There aren't any schools going on for the next 3 months here on the base, so we're hosting missions teams (most of them are from the States). Racquel and I have to look after the rooms that the teams stay in and make sure that they're clean and ready when they come. We also clean the bathrooms, rec. room and the auditorium. Right now there is a team of eight here, so there isn't much for us to do. We make sure everything is tidy, but that doesn't take us long. It's nice to have a bunch of free time.
I moved out of my little dorm room and am now in a staff apartment. Which I love, because I now have my own kitchen and living room, complete with a VCR, DVD player and TV....with cable!!!! I like living there so much more!!!
Next time I'll try to think of something really exciting to tell you!!! Watch for it!

hey Kristen,
Ok - reading your soccer stories had memories of playing soccer in Bolivia come flooding back.
Being the only girl, being yelled at for being a girl, being yelled at for being a white girl, everyone arguing all the time.
Ahhrg.
Anyhow - just thought I'd say good work for being so brave to stand out and play anyhow. Your attitude will teach them about God and your playing will teach them a little bit about women and new contexts in which to respect women that they don't often learn in their culture.
