Please Pray!

I figured I'd put this serious stuff in a separate post since the mood of this stuff is quite different. So I just have a couple of prayer requests.

The first one is about me and my inability to sleep well. Ever since I got here I have not been able to sleep in past 6:00 or 6:30 because that's when the sunrises and I don't have dark curtains in my room. But that's not even the part that bothers me that much, it wouldn't be so bad if I got a decent night's sleep, but I haven't been. I keep on waking up throughout the night pretty much every 2 hours or so just because. Not for any real reason, although sometimes it's a mosquitoe buzzing around my ear, or sometimes i just adjust how I'm laying and I scare myself and think that I'm going to get a muscle cramp in my calf (which I've been getting quite a few of) or I'm too hot or too cold. It's just ridiculous little things that aren't letting me have a peaceful rest. So I just ask for your prayers in this, because I know that that will make a difference, and if any of you know me well you'll know how much I need my sleep.

Another prayer request is for Jermaine. I did get a phone call from him on Sunday and he gave me a phone number that I could reach him at, so I've talked to him twice now since then. It was so good to finally hear from him! He's doing alright, but he didn't sound like himself the last time I talked to him. He was very tired from working so hard all day in the extreme heat (it was about 40 degrees) and it's not been easy working together with John to lead the team. I have been praying for him like crazy, because it's really all I can do. I've been praying that God would take him to a new level in his leadership abilities, and that he would endure with all of his might through the heat and other challenges, and just that he would mature even more in becoming the man of God that God wants him to be -stamped with the image of Christ! I know that in stretching times like this outreach to Africa God can do amazing things in people's life and take them to new levels and teach them so much, so I'm just praying that Jermaine opens his heart and mind to all of this and just makes the best of his time there, even though he really misses home.

Thanks so much for your prayers! Blessings, Kristen

Praying for you Kristen ...
Maybe you should try and get one of those eye-covers people wear when they are travelling on planes and they want to sleep?? Plus, I always use earplugs when I travel to ensure a good sleep and once you get used to them they rock!!! Just some suggestions.

Peace,
