God's Hand is Over YWAM Trinidad

Last week we heard terrible news from the YWAM base in Trinidad & Tobago (which is a small country in the Caribbean near the North-east corner of Venezuela). The leaders of the base, Kevin and Sue Prins, were both shot last Sunday. They had just been donated a new car and they and two of their children were coming home in it from church when about 4 men jumped out of the bush near their home to steal it. Kevin got out of the car, argued with the men, told them he had no money on him and yelled for help to the other YWAM leaders on the base. The other leaders ALL ran out of their homes and started coming over to where the commotion was happening, which must have startled the thieves, because that is when the shooting started. Kevin was shot in the neck and Sue was shot in the hip. No one else was hurt. Kevin and Sue were rushed off to the hospital and looked after. Now this is where we see God's hand in this tragic situation.

Kevin had a bullet go straight through his neck. It went in the front and out the back...and today he's alive and well!!!! The bullet didn't touch any crucial arteries or the spine. And out of the many many nerves that run through the neck it only hit TWO!!! He doesn't have full use of one of his upper arms, but it does seem to be coming along. Answer me this...Who gets shot in the neck and LIVES????? That's incredible! Only God could guide a bullet through someone's neck and make it miss everything! The neck really isn't that big!!!

Sue is another miracle. The doctor's initially thought that the bullet was lodged near a bone, so they went in to take it out. But when they did the surgery they found that the bullet was MILIMETRES away from her spine. The spine is soft tissue, so the bullet had no reason to stop where it did. If it would've been any closer to the spine she would be paralyzed from the waist down. The doctor's don't even understand why the bullet stopped where it did, but we know...It could only be GOD!!! There's no other reason.

As much as this is a huge praise report, there is still alot of healing going on with YWAM Trinidad. Please take out time to pray for them. Kevin and Sue are still going through physical healing and the rest of the people on the base are still dealing with the trauma. There is ALOT of emotional healing that still needs to happen. Two of four of Kevin and Sue's kids were with them in the car when this all happened, so we know that they are dealing with a lot of trauma, please pray for them.

God does miracles EVERYDAY! HE is alive!!! If you don't believe in the Heavenly Father, Creator of heaven and earth, who sent His son to die for our sins, because he loved us, then you need to reevaluate your spiritual beliefs. The doctor's themselves had no answers for why Sue and Kevin aren't dead or at least paralyzed. Doctor's...some of the most well-educated people... can't explain it. But it's easy for me to understand what happened...it was GOD. I can't explain everything in life, but sometimes God makes Himself really obvious. If you don't know God, pray to Him, seek Him, He wants to care for you just how he cared for Kevin and Sue. My God is a loving God!
