OLAH!

Hello! I have been attempting to put pic's on here but something is wrong with the pic's on my laptop. I will try again as soon as possible. I know how wonderful it is to see pic's!

Last week's teaching was wonderful. Our speakers were the leaders of the YWAM base in Nicaragua. They taught on alot of basic things such as knowing the character of God. And they reviewed alot of things that we had already learned, like worldview and culture. They were great teachers and although I had learned alot of what they were teaching us, it gave me a new insight on the subject and they presented everything in a new way.

Jermaine is home...I'M SO GLAD!!! He's still busy sometimes with staffing DTS and I still have my last week of classes this week, but whenever we can we spend time together. We went out for supper Sunday down on the beach, right when the sun was setting. But it was pretty cloudy so the sunset wasn't as good as it has been other times. We're both very excited for the TFNJ (Teachers for the Nations Jamaica) in a few months.

The rainy season has started here. It's been raining pretty every second day, usually in the afternoon, and some evening. It makes everything very humid, but it also cools the place down for a while. There have been some pretty intense thunder storms... which I love.

I've been playing soccer like crazy still. Junior (a man from my FCD school who is in charge of the footballers for right now) and I both agree that there needs to be more order on the football field, so yesterday we tried to have everyone split up into 3 teams. The team that was winning after 10 minutes of play stayed on and played the other team who had been waiting. It went alright, but some of the guys didn't like the idea and so they didn't cooperate very well. They spent alot of time arguing in between the games, which wasted alot of playing time. I'm really hoping that the guys will learn to be humble, and see that their selfishness in wanting to play all the time just causes us to lose playing time. They seem to argue about every little thing. I pray that God will work in their hearts and that they will see how much better it is when there is order and team work.

This week we're doing alot of different things. Thursday and Friday we're spending our time cleaning the base and our rooms and setting up for the graduation/commissioning. Today is Labour Day so it's a national holiday. A group of us decided to go to a local free beach where mostly Jamaican's go (it's not a tourist beach) and clean up garbage. We left at 8 this morning and spent one and a half hours picking up the trash. We picked up about 10 large trash bags full and there was still alot more that we could've done. Some people on the beack asked us why we were doing this and it gave us a chance to tell them about Jesus, and how he came to the earth to serve and so that's what we're doing. It was really great, and now we have the rest of the day free.

Blessings! Kristen
