Kiddy's Cricket

Today was a very exciting day for Bethel Christian School. We were presented with brand new cricket equipment by the West Indies Cricket Association (or something like that) and Scotia Bank. Scotia Bank is the sponsor for this program, called Kiddy's Cricket.

We were given posters, a coach's manual, cricket bats and balls and wickets. It was a huge blessing. The kids were so excited as soon as they heard that this was happening. At the lunch break the children were given a chance to play cricket and use the new equipment and i'm just glad I wasn't in charge of getting them organized. There was SOO much excitement.

With this Kiddy's Cricket program all the schools which are involved in it get a chance to participate in a tournament at some point this year. Four schools will be chosen to play in the tournament, but the schools that aren't chosen still get an all-expenses-paid trip to go and watch the tournament. I'm not exactly sure when this is taking place, but I know that it will be a great experience for the children.

That's my exciting news for today! I'm sure that the children will be playing cricket any chance they get for a while!!!
