Car accident

Quick update:

I was in a car accident yesterday on my way home from church. Jermaine and I were catching a ride with a woman (Patricia) he used to live with back to her house for lunch. We were on a downhill road that had alot of turns in it. Patricia pushed the brakes to slow down around a corner but she didn't feel the car slow down, so she panicked and thought that the brakes were out. We were gaining speed and another corner was coming so Jermaine tried to pull the e-brake but he couldn't get it. We weren't going terribly fast, but enough that we couldn't make it around the next corner. We barely missed a lamppost and drove off the road, onto a very rocky piece of land. The car bounced alot before finally coming to a stop. I think a big rock is what eventually stopped us. Once the car was stopped Patricia turned and asked if everyone was okay and I realized that my back was in ALOT of pain from the bouncing. It was as if my back had been compressed. I started crying, and Patricia's niece (Brizan, who is about 7 years old) was really shaken up and started crying too. Patricia was crying too, Jermaine was the only calm one. No one else was hurt, I just injured my back really bad.

A man in a truck saw us run off the road so he stopped and helped me over to his truck where I could sit down, because I couldn't stand up. I was in excrutiating pain as I sat in the man's truck while Jermaine and Patricia called someone to come pick us up. While we were waiting a bunch of other people stopped to help us. A couple of young men looked at the car to see what went wrong and helped us change two tires which had gone flat because of the rocky land we drove onto. One of the window's had shattered as well.

When our ride finally came they drove me to the hospital emergency waiting room. But as soon as I saw the chairs that I would have to wait in, and the group of about 50 people that were there before me I said "just take me home and I'll lie down, because I can't wait in those chairs when I'm in this kind of pain." So Jermaine and I came back to the base and Em (who is a nurse) asked me about my injury and David gave me some pain killers. A bunch of people saw me crying when I came back so they came and prayed for me and together we decided that it would be best to take me to this emergency clinic place to get looked after. It's not a regular clinic or hospital, it's a bit more expensive, so not many locals go there. SO the wait wouldn't be as long and at that point I didn't care about the money, there was no way I could wait in uncomfortable chairs for hours to see the doctor.

Now the experience at the doctor's is a whole other long story that I won't get into. But they took X-rays and I didn't break or fracture anything. The doctor said that it's just the muscles and ligaments that are injured, so he gave me a prescription for some pain medicine and told me to take it easy this week. I'm lying in bed right now, my back is hurting alot but I'm just glad that this was the extent of the injuries. It could've been alot worse. I'm thanking God that no one hit their head or something like that.

I know that with rest I will heal, but could you please pray that I would heal quickly. And what I'm really praying is that I don't suffer longterm back problems because of this injury. I know that God heals, and does miracles, so please pray for me!

Blessings

Kristen,
I will for sure be praying for you and your back. It's crazy, this morning (around 5), I was feeding Libby and I started praying for people who are in missions right now, and your face kept popping into my head. I didn't know specifically what I was supposed to pray about, I just knew that I needed to pray. Now I know, and I will pray for a speedy recovery, and that you will be COMPLETELY HEALED!!
Love you tons,
Dawn
